Are you looking to kickstart your surveying career with an exciting challenge? Do you have an interest in renewable energy projects, dealing with rural landowners and renewable developers? Are you interested in negotiating terms and learning more about option to lease / purchase agreements? Do you enjoy problem solving and creating solutions? Do you also have an interest in planning and a desire to improve your understanding of land rights, planning matters and key drivers for landowners to be able to assess sites for rural energy projects, negotiate terms and handle matters on behalf of our clients in getting an option in place on land?

Established in 2016, Howie, Kent & Co is a progressive firm of property consultants carrying out professional services, commercial lettings and residential property management. We are looking to recruit a graduate surveyor looking to start a career in rural practice, with the opportunity to work predominantly in the renewable sector, alongside other agency, CPO, estate management and landlord and tenant matters. Our growing, dynamic team is based in rural offices to the south of Shrewsbury, and the role will include a requirement to travel to sites, be highly organised, a good team player and to have good communication skills for working within a team to deliver project progression.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

– Site finding for renewable energy projects, including initial site finding, negotiating with landowners to agree heads of terms and option agreements

– Reporting to senior surveyors

– Planning work

– Residential lettings

– Commercial lettings

– Landlord and tenant

– Farm agency

Key attributes:

– Desire to progress within property sector to complete your APC

– Highly organised and good communicator

– Proficient IT skills, particularly to have or develop the ability to use digital mapping systems

– Team player

Howie, Kent & Co will provide training and support towards your APC and CAAV qualifications, with a supervisor and counsellor both in-house.

he role is full time, based at our newly – built modern offices on our family dairy farm.
