Howie, Kent & Co Limited is looking for a driven and organised Commercial Lettings Assistant to join our small but growing team. In this role, you will play a vital part in connecting commercial tenants with the ideal rural commercial property, building relationships with rural landlord clients, and ensuring  property listings are always up-to-date and appealing.

What you’ll do:

  • Answer telephone and online enquiries from prospective tenants and fully understand their needs and requirements.
  • Maintain and update the company database with all new tenant enquiries, keeping information accurate and accessible to the full team.
  • Liaise with landlords and prospective tenants to arrange viewings at suitable sites, coordinating schedules and communicate seamlessly, providing a professional service to our landlords.
  • Draft property listings on various online portals, including our website and Rightmove, crafting compelling descriptions which are attractive to tenants for a variety of business needs. Update listings as and when required, and taking instruction from our landlord clients.
  • Assist the Commercial Lettings Manager with administrative tasks and projects as required such as invoicing, market research, business development etc.

What you bring:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build relationships with landlords and tenants of all backgrounds and an excellent command of the English language.
  • Strong administrative skills, with proficiency in MS Word and Excel for data-entry and record keeping.
  • A detail-oriented approach and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A positive and proactive attitude, with a willingness to learn and grow within the team.

  • Salary up to £23,000 dependent on experience.

About Us

Howie, Kent and Co was established in 2016 by husband and wife team Duncan and Sarah Howie. Both with farming backgrounds and still very much involved in the family businesses, Howie, Kent and Co has now grown to a team of 13. As well as commercial property agents we are also a land agency and advise on matters including land management, residential and commercial development, planning, compulsory purchase and site finding and project development for renewable and non-renewable energy providers.

This job is a new role within the business, which has been created due to the rapid expansion of our Commercial Property business. You would be working alongside our Commercial Property Agent based in Essex and our Commercial Lettings Manager based in Shropshire.  

Candidate requirements

Experience in the property sector would be beneficial but not essential. Your attitude to work is more important to the team.

Working hours can be flexible according to your requirements. We are advertising the role as full or part time to suit your existing commitments (minimum 3 days)

A full UK driving license or access to a car would be preferable as our office is in a rural location with limited public transport.
