Meet the team – James Haselwood
February 2026
James Haselwood has been a key part of the Howie Kent & Co team since early 2021, playing an important role in the growth of the business and supporting clients across the UK with clear, practical advice.
With roots in farming in the East Midlands, James brings a grounded understanding of rural land and its potential. After settling in Shropshire in 2009, he went on to study Rural Enterprise and Land Management at Harper Adams University, qualifying as a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) in 2016.
Following graduation, James built a strong foundation in rural estate management and agency with a national firm, gaining valuable experience across a wide range of projects. He then moved into land promotion, where he focused on identifying development opportunities and guiding schemes from initial landowner conversations right through the planning process.
At Howie Kent & Co, James leads on site finding and contract negotiations, with a clear focus on creating value for clients. His ability to spot opportunity early and navigate the complexities of land deals makes him a trusted advisor to both private and public sector clients.
Outside of work, James enjoys spending time outdoors, whether that’s on the golf course, fly fishing, or at home with his wife Emma and twins, Beanie and Arthur. Most of all, he’s happiest in the saddle riding his horse, Jimmy.
