Professional Development at CAAV Young Valuers Conference
November 2025
Howie Kent and Co’s graduate surveyors and current university placement student — Dan, Joe and Emily, recently attended the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (CAAV) 18th Annual Young Valuers Conference. The event brought together emerging young professionals from across the rural surveying sector to develop their knowledge, network with peers, and gain insight into key areas of professional practice.
The morning sessions featured a series of informative talks covering a broad range of topics, including the effect of soil health on land value, an introduction to minerals, and working effectively with clients. These sessions offered valuable technical and practical perspectives, helping attendees to strengthen both their industry understanding and their approach to professional client relationships.
In the afternoon, delegates enjoyed a site visit to Attenborough Nature Reserve and Spring Lakes, providing an opportunity to see environmental and diversification principles in practice. This hands-on element added a valuable real-world dimension to the day’s learning and discussion.
Taking place at the Radisson Blu, East Midlands Airport, the conference concluded with an evening drinks reception and black-tie dinner, offering the perfect setting for networking and reflection on an engaging and informative day.
At Howie Kent and Co, we are committed to supporting the professional development of our graduate and student surveyors. Opportunities such as the Young Valuers Conference are an important part of this journey, enabling our team to build knowledge, share ideas, and contribute to the continued growth of our profession.
